Rick says Zoe has the best attitudeFavorite pro:when she shows up for tennis class each day. Shes competitive but in the best senseSerena Williamsof the word, he says. If her record for rallying with a pro was 17 the previous day, she(Because sheswants to get 18 or 19 the next day.Stempson admits that Zoe knows the rules of the games they play better than he doespowerful!)sometimes. My assistant, Denny Hershberger, and I always appreciate her letting us know that we usually play full court on this one or alleys are usually in for this game, guys.Zoes little brother, Gus, joined her class toward the end of the summer. Its always a little bit of a dicey situation, Coach Stempson says, when siblings are in the same class. Not with Zoe. She showed her little brother the ropes and cheered him on every second of the class. Thats unique and special, but again, so is Zoe.Off the court, Zoe does competitive dance and plays golf and soccer. Selfishly, Rick laments, we would love to have her train with us all year long. The sky is the limit for her.Zoes mother Jessica happily fills in some details of Zoes story for LOOK. She was exposed to tennis through Ricks summer program at age 4. She has been a faithful participant for the past five years, taking advantage of the summer clinics and playing after school two days a week.Zoe has gained and exudes confidence in many other areas of life, Jessica says, thanks to the tennis program. She recently took up viola at school and volunteers to go first for activities without hesitation. She loves being with coaches Rick and Denny because they are so nice and welcoming. Zoe confirms that she loves competitive games during practice, especially when Rick and Denny respect the rules!She also shares that her best memories include winning up and down the river, the tennis parties, and any time the girls teams beat the boys teams during lessons!Teddy and Zoe are just two of the many awesome juniors the Club is proud to rally around. We count it a blessing and privilege that our membership entrusts so many of these wonderful young people to our care, confirms McKitterick.
